Agriculture and environment

The Royal Norwegian Society for Development has been a pioneer in terms of developing modern agriculture in Norway since the early 19th century. By means of innovative projects and new environmentally-friendly methods we also contribute today to the development of Norwegian agriculture.

Agriculture and the environment remain an important part of our work for commercial development and sustainable local communities. Our environmental engagement includes the development of initiatives to make fertilising more efficient and the use of bio-coal as a soil-improvement and carbon-binding technique.

Did you know that …
...the Royal Norwegian Society for Development introduced community-supported agriculture to Norway in 2004 together with the Norwegian National Institute for Consumer Research, Oikos and Grønn Hverdag.
